Since 1st Of January 2021, legislation has changed and pet passports issued in Great Britain have been replaced by AHC ( Animal Health Certificate). AHC
What does it mean? If you own a pet ( cat for or ferret) and require to take your beloved pet with you in Europe, your pet must:
-Have a microchip
-Have received a rabies vaccination at least 21 days before departure
-Have a valid Animal Health Certificate to travel By the Official Veterinarian (OV)
An Animal Health Certificate is a certificate that can be issued only by Official Veterinarians qualified to do so. Once the pet is checked and microchip is scanned and recorded, the Animal Health Certificate can be issued and it is valid for 10 days to leave the country. Most importantly only when 21 days ( at least) have elapsed since the rabies vaccination, an Animal Health Certificate can be requested. Some countries ( Malta, Republic of Ireland, Norther Ireland, Finland , Norway) also require a tape wormer treatment given by a vet not less than 24 hours and no more that 120 hours ( 5 days) before you arrive.

Planning to export a pet abroad?
Over the past years I have been helping breeders and private clients with the export of pets around the world. If you are planning to sell a cat or a dog abroad or if you are planning to travel to Third Countries, Export Certification will be required.
I provided export certification for United States, Canada, Singapore and Colombia to name a few.
Legislation and legal requirements to enter a Third Country are very different, once we get instructed to provide an export certification , a meeting is usually arranged to discuss all the legal requirements that need to be satisfied to enter the country with a pet.
